A numerical model for the transport and fate of sediments and contaminants in surface waters has previously been developed. This model includes descriptions of the hydrodynamics; sediment resuspension, deposition, and transport; sediment bed dynamics; and the sorption and transport of hydrophobic chemicals. In the present study, this model is extended and used to investigate the effects of volatilization and finite rate chemical sorption processes on the transport and fate of hydrophobic contaminants.
