Rapid diagnosis techniques are the bases for disease prevention and treatment in aquaculture. Two pairs of PCR (polymerase chain raction) primers were designed and synthesized according to the publications of bacterial 16S rRNA sequence data. The expected DNA fragments could be amplified from Vibrio cambellii, V. alginolyticus and V. parahaemolyticus DNA extracts in PCR empolying those two primer pairs. Di-gested by enzyme Alu I, the PCR products of PLl-PL2 primer pair produced 3 different polymorphisms of fragment length and each species could be rapid identified. The combination of PCR and RFLPs (restriction fragment length polymorphisms) is proposed to be powerful tool for bacterial pathogen identification is shrimp aquaculture.
