As a useful diagnostic tool, nonoclonal antibody technqies have peretrated into medical and biological fields. At present, two kinds of monoclonal antibodies have been gotten in our institute, one is for HPV (Hepatopancreatic Parvo Virus) and the other is for HHN-BV (Hypodermal and Hematopoietic Necrosis Baculovirus) which was the causative pathogen of shrimp epidemic disease in 1993 in China. After surveying the epidemic characteristics of HHNBV in Shandong and Liaoning provinces in 1994 by monoclonal antibody techniques, the following results were obtained: (a) the occurrence of HHNBV positive shrimp were in conformity with that of shrimp epidemic disease in shrimp ponds. furthermore. the epidemic situation could be predicted 20approx40 ago; (b) viruliferous rate in copepod was higher than that in shrimps and the appearance of HHNBV positive in copepod was also earlier than that in shrimps; (c) artemia in some areas and other small crustacaan such as mysis were HHNBV psoitive too. At the same time. HPV was also examined in 19 shrimp nursery taks in 1994. The results indicated that HPV infective ratio was 12.5
