With the growing concern about the health impact associated with airborne particles, there is a pressing need for designing effective filter device. Electrospinning is a feasible technique to produce filter media imposing charges without additional process. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of plasma-based surface modifications on static charges of electrospun filter media and the resulting filtration performance compared to a polypropylene meltblown web (PP MB).
