Due to unique looping forms, knitted structures are distinctive for flexibly meeting geometrical and mechanical requirements. Normally regarded as one of the toughest structures, jacquard mesh boasts for generating fabulous patterns, superior breathability and multi-size filterability. Practical simulation of this structure is an expected solution for pre-visualization of structure design and virtual testing of mechanical properties. After a further analysis on structure characteristics, a tailored particle model was proposed to microscopically simulate physical loop interactions and structural deformation. The research will provide model foundation and technical support for virtual design, testing and display of knitted products in Internet plus textiles era.
