Research on the Influencing Factors of International Education Service Trade Deficit Based on GMM

摘要

As the booster of global economic growth, service trade has become the focus of the world economic competition. This paper uses the data of us educational service trade and exports to China from 2002 to 2018, and makes a comparative study on the factors that lead to the deficit of China-US educational service trade through GMM and other methods. GMM is a parameter estimation method based on the model satisfying certain moment conditions, which solves the endogenous problem of the model. GMM can reduce the endogenous influence of the model and better explain the influencing factors. The results show that education, science and technology, and economy are the main influencing factors, which provides a reference for China to improve the level of education internationalization.
