In this project a novel research into the use of torsional torque with frequencies close or equal to the natural frequency of mined rock to improve the efficiency of drilling will be carried out. In proposed solution, pulsating torque using an electromagnetic torsional generator is produced. Such equipment could be used to drill a tunnel through solid rock or rubble to reach potentially trapped miners with an additional advantage of reduced size and weight compared to conventional drilling rigs. In this article will also be presented the so-called torque - speed characteristics of a new type of electromagnetic device called torsional torque generator. These characteristics will be determined using FEM methods.
