Absolute Spontaneous Resolution of MII-LnIII-MII Type TrinuclearComplexes from Achiral Tripodal Schiff Base Ligand

A series of trinuclear complexes,[(M~(II)L)2Ln~(III)]NO3(M-Ln-M),which were synthesized from achiral tripodalSchiff base ligand H3L (Fig.1),3d-metal acetate M(OAc)2,and lanthanoid nitrate Ln(NO3)3,in a 2:2:1 molar ratio,have two asymmetric centers at M centers derived fromtripodal ligand coordination.Absolute configurations in theresulting molecule have been usually homochiral,i.e.,Λ,Λand Δ,Δ enantiomers.
