N-Heterocyclic Carbene (NHC) has been of great interest as a supporting ligand tostabilize high valent metal-oxo species,which is an active intermediate in a variety ofoxidation reactions.A tris(carbene)borateligand is especially promising due to thesuperior σ-donor electron properties and thesteric and electronic tunability.Nevertheless,the application for catalysis of usingtris(carbene)borate-supported complexes islimited.Herein,we study iron compoundsbearing a tris(carbene)borate ligand;;[Fe~(III)(Tim~(Me))2]~+ (1,Tim~(Me) = tris(1-methylimidazol-2-ylidene)(phenyl)borate) and [Fe~(III)(Tim~(Me))(acac)L]~+ (2,acac = acetylacetone,L =1-methylimidazole or solvent).
