Drug discovery from natural products has been with wide interest over the pastdecades.Conventionally,obtaining natural products from bioassay-guided isolation orsynthetic chemistry has numerous drawbacks.In recent years,with the advances inwhole genome sequencing and the decreasing cost for gene synthesis,much attentionhas been drawn to combining genome mining and biosynthesis for the discovery ofnovel natural products.We pay close attention to halogenase and halogenatedcompounds as they are usually physiologically active substance and play an importantrole in organic chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry.1 The enzymatic reactionbetween halogenase and its substrates will give a large library of halogenatedcompounds whose absolute structure is unclear.
