Human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) envelope glycoprotein gp140 is a trimeric antigen and has been a target protein for the development of HIV-1 vaccines. Human PGT antibodies have shown to bind directly to the HIV-1 glycan coat via high mannose glycans on the glycoprotein.
