An innovative Y-shape power divider (PWD) model is established based on the Kron-Branin formalism. The equivalent topology of Y-PWD is elaborated by considering the constituting elements of classical transmission line (TL). The S-parameter theoretical model is applied to single-input two-output (1:2) unequal Y-PWD. The unequal level of the outputs is controlled with output quarter wavelength branch characteristic impedances. The modelling concept feasibility is validated with a microstrip Y-PWD operating at about 2.45 GHz. The calculated and simulated S-parameters are in good agreement.
