Because some composite insulators run certain number of years and tend to exist insulation breakdown performance degradation issues, and some even mass incidents have occurred, affecting the normal operation of the grid. First introduced X-ray inspection systems for the presence of infrared temperature hot, lightning, and vandalism of composite insulators in UHV base, utilization visual inspection of electrical equipment based on X-ray digital imaging detection system. And through the artificial gap between the mandrel and the jacket seams, V-shaped mandrel and an artificial scratches and other defects between the insulator strings, concluded electrical equipment based on X-ray digital imaging detection system perspective feasibility of detecting defects on insulator common visualization.
