In order to increase the data transfer rate and improve the spectrum utilization rate, terrestrial digital television adopts layered space-time block coding (STBC), thus space-time block code detecting determines the performance of the receiver. A detailed derivation of signal detection algorithm is presented. And STBC signal detection algorithm is simulated using MATLAB. The result shows that the receiver, using two antennas for maximum likelihood detection, can obtain good bit error performance.
