Differences analysis of environment-consumption expected of the population in different income groups-taking the urban residents of Jiangsu Province as example

Based on the concept and theory of Environmental-consumption of Population (EcEP), the paper analyzed the difference of EcEP of the income groups of urban residents in Jiangsu province and defined the environmental Gini coefficient. The result shows that the environmental Gini coefficient is obviously lower than the income Gini coefficient, which shows that the level of EcEP is not proportional to income. Furthermore, traffic consumption is the most unbalanced and that of foodstuff consumption is comparatively balanced . In order to make the environmental resources occupation more just, the authors give out some suggestions such as to cultivate sustainable consumption consciousness and to live the environmental-friendly life etc.
