The HDS overall reaction rate is often limited by intraparticle diffusion,resulting in limited catalyst utilization.The diffusion of reactants in porous materials depends critically on pore size and pore structure .Recently,our research group have prepared a type of catalyst with well-defined and uniform pore-structure.The pore size of this catalyst can be tailored via changing the diameter of microspheres,while its porosity(ε)and tortuosity(τ)can remain almost unchanged.Obviously,this type of WDUPS catalyst is more suitable for fundamental investigations of intraparticle diffusion than conventional HDS catalysts.
