Lath martensite is a multi-scale material often described in terms of packets, blocks and lathsbased on the Kurdjumov-Sachs (KS) orientation relationships (ORs). In such material, strain localization andfailure initiation is strongly related to the inherent relationship between morphology and crystallography ofblocks. Therefore, reliable prediction of its behavior can only be achieved if these relations are explicitlyaccounted. Accordingly, the present study focuses on the modeling and simulation of lath martensite underfatigue conditions for the prediction of crack initiation.
