摘要

Fish meal and fish oil from wild fisheries have traditionally been major constituents of fish feeds, but their supply is finite. Reduced reliance on fish meal and fish oil is needed to ensure the sustainability of the aquaculture industry. Algae species such as Chlorella vulgaris seem to have a good potential as a fish meal substitute due to their high protein content, balanced amino acid composiiton and are rich in minerals and vitamins. This study examined the efficacy and nutritional properties ofChlorella vulgaris as an alternative feed ingredient for all-male tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) culture.
