USING HAZELNUT OIL IN DIETS FOR JUVENILE BROWN TROUT, Salmo trutta

Juvenile brown trout (initial average weight, 0.85± 0.0lg) were distributed randomly in three replicates 50-L glass aquaria with a total of 30 fish per tank. Four casein-gelatin based experimental diets containing various levels of hazelnut oil (0%,HO; 5%, H5; 10%, H10 and 15%, HI5) were formulated. Total lipid content of the diets was 15%, and it was composed of hazelnut oil and fish oil substituting each other gradually. Each aquarium received one of the four dietary profiles referenced above.
