EFFECT OF SPRAY-DRIED PLASMA IN DIETS FOR JUVENILE ATLANTIC SALMON SUBMITTED TO SMOLTIFICATION PROCESS

摘要

Spray-dried plasma (SDP) is a processed ingredient containing functional proteins, bioactive peptides and growth factors. SDP is widely used in diets of pigs and calves for improving growth and health. Research in multiple species demonstrates greaterbenefit from SDP when animals are under stress. The objective was to evaluate the effect of SDP in the diet of juvenile Atlantic salmon (Salmon salar) on survival and performance during the smoltification process.
