With respect to recent challenges, for example escapees, in the aquaculture industry further technological developing is required. Hence new structures, materials and equipment and also operational procedures are continuously under investigation. Beside this, new monitoring techniques have to be developed, improved and utilized as they are required to document the performances of these developments. As laboratory and small scale tests are, due to uncertainties in up scaling factors, usually limited in validity, it is demanded to develop, test and verify these monitoring technologies in full scale, i.e. at regular production size.
