The nanocrystal titania sol with different ratio of rutile and anatase was prepared at low temperature by simple peptizing and aging the amorphous precursor of titanium at different temperature. The pure rutile sol formed at low temperature below 50°C. Increasing the temperature of peptizing and aging, the product was the blend phase of rutile and anatase. While the pure anatase was synthesized with increasing reactive temperature to about 120°C. By controlling the feeding amount of PEG dispersant, a stable sol which mean particle size and standard deviation are less than 12nm and 2nm respectively, were synthesized.
