Outdoor Space Optimization for Senior Citizens Based on Interactive Activities in Old Communities in Wuhan/China

摘要

With the great improvement of health services for senior citizens and rapid urbanization in China, more and more aged people living in old communities need to deal with the problem of disappearance of communicational space and facilities by the urban renewal movement and real estate development which greatly prevent elders getting outside. It is essential to get to know what interactive activities and the relationship between outdoor space and activities of the kind before we can find solutions. In this article, we take the case of one historic community Baoqing as an example to see how to improve outside activities for aged people.
