Laser beam machining (LBM) is an advance machining process,it is highly precise machining for any type of material with typical geometries.Various machining processes like cutting,drilling,grooving can be performed by LBM for material removal.C02 and Nd: YAG lasers are generally used for industrial purposes.This paper provides views about various geometrical feature of the laser beam machining implemented for orthopaedic implants metals and aerospace alloys.Modeling and simulation of Laser beam machining is very important for optimization purpose.This paper also gives an overview of current status of research in modelling and simulation of laser beam machining of smart alloys.
