Bayah coastal area is one of the areas on the south coast of Java Island which can be potentially affected by the tsunami caused by a tectonic earthquake. The spatial model of vulnerability level towards tsunami is assessed based on aspects of exposure, sensitivity, and resilience by using Geographical Information System (GIS) method which begins with the application of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine the weight of each variable. The study area is located at an elevation of 0-25 meter above the sea level (MASL), administratively located in four villages in Bayah coastal area. This study aims to analyze vulnerability pattern towards tsunami using spatial analysis based on grid analysis. This study shows that region vulnerability pattern towards tsunami in Bayah Coastal Area is increasing from the coast lead up to settlements and concurrently decreasing with the enhancement of elevation and distance from the coastline. The region vulnerability towards tsunami in the study area is dominated by moderate vulnerability area which encompasses 65.59% of the total study area. The low vulnerability area is about 32.05% of the total study area, and high vulnerability area is about 2.36% of the total study area. Region vulnerability towards tsunami at the village level in sequence from highest to lowest is West Bayah, Sawarna, Darmasari, and lastly East Sawarna.
