Copper (II) oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) have been prepared through plants extract mediated synthesis of Oldenlandia corymbosa L. with precursor of Cu(NO_3)_2 solution. The aqueous fraction of Oldenlandia corymbosa L. leaf extract (OLE) was conducted by a phytochemical test and contained active compounds such as alkaloid, flavonoid, polyphenol, and saponin which acted as weak base source in hydrolyzing process and stabilizing agent for CuO NPs formation by sol-gel method. CuO NPs were characterized using UV-Vis Diffuse Reflectance Spectrophotometer (UV-Vis DRS), Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR), Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The characterizations confirmed the formation of CuO NPs.
