We show that linear self-injection locking theory do not allow the soliton generation in the locked system. We modify the theory to take the nonlinearity of the resonator into account. We show that the the soliton generation becomes possible after this modification. We also investigate the self-injection locking to the nonlinear resonator experimentally in the intergated Si_3N_4 microchip and show deformation of the resonance curves similar to the theoretical predictions.
