The first order QED correction term to the classical magnetic dipole radiation formula is explicitly given in terms of local configuration of the electromagnetic current which produces global dipole magnetic field around pulsars. Slow rotation of the star and weakness of the magnetic dipole are assumed to obtain an explicit formula. We also reviewed the analysis in strong magnetic field regime and found that no correction would happen in this regime except for the running of coupling constant effect. We advocate the conventional use of the classical magnetic dipole radiation formula to estimate the magnetic field strength of the pulsars.
