This paper consists of a numerical study on the premixed filtration combustion of propane/air mixtures in a packed bed, consisting of inert ball free accumulated with low velocity. The influence of gas flow velocity and equivalence ratio on the combustion and the emission characteristics are clarified. Results show that with the increase of the equivalent ratio, the maximum combustion temperature increases and the combustion wave propagation velocity gets slower with CO and C02 emissions rising. For a bigger ball diameter, the lower the highest combustion temperature is, the faster the burning wave propagation velocity.
