摘要

Daylighting in buildings contributes to a healthy, stimulating and comfortable environment. However, inappropriate use of daylight may lead to visual hindrance or to overheating in summer. Therefore, the choice of an appropriate shading system and control strategy is important to prevent these issues. Different control strategies for shading devices exist. However, it is mostly the impact on the energy consumption that is considered when evaluating the performance of a shading system, while achieving comfort for the occupant is also a crucial factor. We developed a method to control visual comfort, based on the needs of the occupants. This paper demonstrates a case study where a sensor is used to assess visual comfort and to control a venetian blind system.
