Smart objects represent one of the major growth drivers for the electronics industry for the next 5 years. Perhaps because of extremely broad application domains and a wide variety of use cases, many manufacturers are showing amazing prototypes and pre-series demonstrations that have not, up to now, led to massive market adoption and industrialisation. While this situation can have many causes, one of the most compelling is the inadequacy of energy solutions ideal for the specific usage of these objects.
