Screening the literature, there are several methods and materials to reduce sulfur compounds in fuels including thiophene, benzothiophenes and dibenzothiophenes, which should be removed in order to eliminate the sulfur contents and thus enhance the quality of the produced fuels [1, 2]. A promising method is adsorption, employed to remove trace impurities, such as the removal of trace amounts of aromatics from aliphatic [3] and it is the most common hydrodesulfurization alternative method currently used to achieve ultra-clean fuels [4].
