Detection of Shiga-toxigenic Escherichia coli using Recombinase Polymerase Amplification

The RPA assay reduced total colony screening time from 3.5 h to 30 min. 100% of Stx positive isolates were detected using the RPA assay in under 20 min. All Stx profiles detected by RPA matched that of traditional PCR results and the expected profile.
