THE TAXONOMY OF REQUIREMENTS FOR CONDUCTING ELICITATION

The success of a project is often affected by changes in requirements. In order to cope with this risk, we have developed the PRINCE model. The PRINCE model provides us with an image of the requirements elicitation process. The scope of this paper extends to our observation of the requirements elicitation history of past development projects. This paper introduces the PRINCE model and discusses taxonomy of requirements for managing the elicitation process. The taxonomy is based on the volatility of requirements and difficulties in their elicitation which come from the source of the requirements. This paper also presents a case study on the quantitative observation of a requirements elicitation process on the basis of the taxonomy.
