Research on physical quality promotion of college students using interpretive structural modeling: a case study in China

Aiming at the problem that the physical quality of modern college students is poor, an interpretive structural model (ISM) about the influential factors for the poor physical quality of college students was built. Firstly, adjacencies of influential factors which lead to college students' physical quality becoming poor were identified by investigation, and the adjacency matrix was obtained. Then, the reachability matrix, the reduced matrix and the key matrix were calculated for constructing a directed graph by gradated analysis. Finally, the surface layer, the middle layer and the underlying layer of factors that influence college students' physical quality becoming poor were discovered; some suggestions were provided to promote college students' physical quality.
