Advances in Hot Oil Durability of Phenolic Filter Media

The cars and trucks of the world have had their engine oil filtered with filters made using phenolic saturated filter paper for the last 50 years. The hot oil durability of this paper coupled with its relatively low cost and excellent filtering properties explains this long-lived and continuing tenure. The automotive industry, however, continues to seek better hot oil durability required of tomorrow's evolving engines.
