Good filtration is an important part of condensate and boiler feedwater protection. It is an excellent complement to traditional chemical injections, regardless of protocols used. Traditional filter technology is very efficient for large/critical plants. New filter technology based on high flow capability will open possibilities for smaller, nimbler plants. Who cannot afford backwash. Who cannot deal with hundreds of filter cartridges. Where space is a challenge. Good filtration will translate into better thermal efficiency. When plants reduce chemistry holds because feedwater is "cleaner faster". When plants reduce rate of blowdown because iron is stopped before the drum. When plants save on resin regeneration because beds do not foul with iron oxides.
