Elastic nitrile rubber fibers with average diameter around 1μm were produced via electrospinning; The surfaces of the electrospun fiber mats were hydrophobic with water contact angles approaching 140°; The fiber mats expanded as air flow passed through and returned back to original form when air flow reduced to 0; The fiber mats expanded more and more as increasing the air flow rate, resulting in greater pressure drops and expanding depths; The permeabilities of the fiber mats increased as expanding, which was primarily due to the enlargement of the pores among the fibrous media.
