The Indian Concept of Food Security: A Social Policy Intervention Approach in Policy Making

The annual food production in the world today is enough to feed 7.1 billion people, yet one in every eight individuals suffered from chronic undernourishment in 2010-12. In all, 870 million people are undernourished, and 852 million live in developing countries. The principal cause of hunger is poverty resulting from the unequal access to resources and income within specific countries.
