Compartmentation for train passenger fire safety

The purpose of this document is to describe how NFPA 130's preferred method of train evacuation in case of a fire can be implemented for high-speed train vehicles. The evacuation strategy being pursued is known as compartmentation. The two necessary requirements for compartmentation are, being able to seal the incident train compartment to contain fire products within that compartment and to allow occupants to evacuate to a protected area outside of that compartment.
