摘要

This paper proposes a high-speed data transfer module based on EZ-USB FX2 and FPGA for portable instruments. In particular, we implement our design on the basis of USB mass storage protocol, which would be parsed by the instrument's CPU. And we build state machines for FPGA to process the commands and data transfer. The module is composed of the USB controller, FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), and DDR SDRAM. And the EZ-USB FX2 is configured in Slave FIFO (First Input First Output) mode to ensure the process of mass data transfer is pure hardware operation without CPU's participation. Experimental results show that the module could complete communication function between the USB control chip and the FPGA.
