On the 80-th Brainstorming for Complex Research of Black Sea Ecosystem (The Restoration of the Black Sea Ecosystem: Necessary But Not Sufficient Conditions for Harmonic Existence of the Region)

This chapter describes the efforts of an international scientific group, which worked in the 80-th with aim to explore, quantify and predict the ecosystem variability of the Black Sea on the basis of complex research. We tried to apply the lessons of Nuclear winter model in practice for creating and development of the models which would allow: the descriptions of the past states of the sea, displaying trends and changes, as well the prediction of the future states of the sea. In fact, we created the first NGO, where participating scientists from Bulgarian, Georgian, Russian and Ukrainian Academy of Sciences Institutes, Hydrographic Services of Bulgaria, Black Sea Soviet Navy, GosGidroMet and other organizations, connected with the Environment and Fishing economy.
