The strong hybrid market continue to expand at a steady pace but only three companies are committed: Toyota, Ford, and Hyundai. Li Ion is expanding market share in strong hybrids. Lead by German automakers, the search for the optimal mild hybridization level above stop/start (micro-0) and below moderate hybrid is picking up again. Li Ion is in the best position to capture most mild-hybrid configurations but challenges persist. Potential for large expansion of mild-hybrid architectures in Europe and possibly China, but not before the 2018 time scale.
