Analysis of Runoff Characteristics of the Xiaoyangqi River in Northeast China

The Xiaoyangqi River Basin, a typical closed basin in an alpine region in Songling District of Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China, is shown to provide reference data in support of research on snowmelt runoff, an important source for Xiaoyangqi River. First, based on the annual hydrological data measured at the Xiaoyangqi hydrological station on the Burhatong River, the paper estimates the monthly runoff from 1992 to 2010 in the Xiaoyangqi River by using the analogy method. Second, we measured the daily runoff, precipitation and temperature of Xiaoyangqi River during concentrated snowmelt. Finally, on the basis of local meteorological data and the data mentioned above, the paper analyzes the variation of spring runoff characteristics in the Xiaoyangqi River by using Kendall's rank correlation method; the relationship between spring runoff, precipitation and temperature by using SPSS and a multi-regression method; the relationship among spring runoff, precipitation, snowmelt and temperature during the period of concentrated snowmelt.
