It is known that transition metals improve mechanical properties of the Al-Mg-Si alloy. The thermo-mechanical treatment is also effective to improve the strength of the Al-Mg-Si alloy, particularly elongation. In this work, the aging behavior of the deformed excess Mg-type Al-Mg-Si alloy including Ag or Cu was investigated by hardness test and TEM observation. The value of maximum hardness increased and the aging times to reach maximum hardness became shorter by increasing the amount of deformation. The age-hardening ability (AHV), (which is the difference between the peak hardness and the as-rolled hardness,) was decreased with increasing amount of deformation.
