Female sexual identity disorder and substance use disorder

The aim of the present paper is to underline the amount of a phenomenon often neglected (greater drug/alcohol intake in lesbian population) and to offer possible explanation in order to try to understand what exposed. Introduction: Sexual identity is a peculiar personality aspect often neglected in the analyzes of a potential patient. This frequent situation represents a very bias and a potential blurring factor especially when we research about attempted suicide or substance abuse. Materials and Methods: we analyzed EBM Literature published in the last five year, and text otherwise and previously published but esteemed as important for our purpose. Results: Even if international studies and researches about this topic are rare, we are able to stress some interesting evidences that cannot be further neglected.
