The title compound, l-(2R,3S,4R,5R)-3-fluoro-4-hydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl) tetrahydrofuran-2-yl)-5-iodopyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione , C_9H_(10)FIN_2O_5, as potential drugs for anti-tumor, anti-viral have been synthesized and characterized by NMR spectra. Meanwhile, the crystal of 2b was obtained and determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Crystal data: monoclinic system, space group P2(l), a = 9.0832(1 l)A,b = 5.4332(7) A, c = 12.2464(15) A, β = 107.809(4)°, V= 575.41(12) A~3, Z= 2, F(000) = 360, D_x = 2.148 Mg m~(-3), μ= 2.813 mm~(-1), R = 0.014 and wR = 0.056 for 1988 independent reflections (R_(int) = 0.0209) and 1932 observed ones (I > 2σ(I)).
