摘要

2-methoxyestradiol (2-ME), an endogenous metabolite of estradiol, is reported to be a potent inhibitor for solid tumors and suppress their growth both in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, 2-ME may also prevent the estrogen-induced cancers in target organs. However, its low solubility has limited its clinical application. Although several carriers have been explored for the delivery of 2-ME, the unknown toxicity and biocompatibility associated with those carriers still need to be further evaluated. The objective of this research is to design an amphiphilic polymer for targeted delivery of 2-ME to cancer cells (HCT-116).
