The rapid growth of hydrogen in the energy market is expected in the near future (1). The purity requirement for transportation applications, such as fuel cells, is a challenge that must be addressed for ensuring a suitable lifetime for this equipment. Preventing contamination or poisoning of the fuel cells is the primary driver for very tight specifications of key impurities such as Carbon Monoxide and Ammonia in Hydrogen, which have been demonstrated to negatively affect performance (2) (3). As a consequence hydrogen production routes have to secure the purity through reliable analysis of key impurities.
