Rectangular waveguides are the most common type of waveguides used in transporting microwave signals, and they are still being used to date in many applications. Waveguides can be used in high power systems, millimeter wave systems, and in some precision test applications. In this work, a model of a rectangular waveguide was created using FEKO software, using the model some plastic samples like polyethylene and acrylic were put into the rectangular waveguide and there S-parameters were measured. The dimensions of the modeled rectangular waveguide model were used in fabricating an actual rectangular waveguide. The same plastic samples used in the model were used in the constructed rectangular waveguide and their S-parameters were measured. The simulated and measured S-parameters were compared and there was a good agreement between the results.
